Eclipse Stolen

Hey guys. I just wanted to ask if everyone could keep their eyes and ears peeled for ANYONE trying to sell an Eclipse Bflat trumpet. Nick Smart, a musician in England, had his Eclipse MR in scratch finish stolen recently and we suspect it will eventually surface on the market somewhere. He's a really nice guy and we would like to help find his instrument if we can. Thanks!

You can check out Nick's CD "Black Eyed Dog - Remembering Nick Drake" at 33Jazz Records.

Re: Eclipse Stolen

Just wan't to agree that Nick is one on the nicest men in the business and a fantastic player too - that CD is wonderful and highly recommended.

The scarey thing about the burgalary is that the thief/thiefs came into Nicks house while he was asleep - I think they may have trouble selling his horn though as the bottom bracing on Nick's trumpets spell out his initials, N S!!

Noel.

Which part of the UK......I can tell my local music store..

Last time I visited the shop the owner told me someone dodgy came in with a Selmer MK6..... he gave them a hard time so they left. He wasn't sure if it was stolen...a few minutes later a little old lady came in with the sax and said " does this belong to you"? It had been left outside his shop!!!

Anyway..... I will keep and eye out......Have we got a serial number.

Re: Eclipse Stolen

Alex,

I think that it may be useful to post a photo of the stolen horn. As far as I understand what Eclipse are doing, most of the horn are quite special, because customised. I am not livin in UK anymore, so I won't be able to help, but for those who are it will be easier to watch out for if they know exactly how it looks like...

Re: Eclipse Stolen

I wouldn't be surprised to see it pop on ebay. I'll make sure to check often.

So sorry to hear the news.

Really Walter???? Nick's girlfriend had her MK6 stolen as well during this event. I don't have the serial number, but I am sure one of our British brothers can get that information. We also hope to find her instruments as well.

I do not have Nick's phone number and we forgot to get the serial numbers from him before he left the shop. Maybe Noel or Leigh will have his phone number and can get the information from Nick??? It is not like there are many MK6s flying around either. His GF really wants her instruments back! Thanks for your help Walter.
