I'm sure the trumpet plays beautifully (provided you don't use the slides!!), but it is created more as a piece of art than a working trumpet. Cheers, Tim | |

I am 200% sure. I have been to the Monette factory enough times to know that these are not beginners and that the time and effort put into these "masterpieces" is only topped by the playing experience with them. Check the videos out, no blood! You also need to realize that the optics are secondary to Dave Monette. That horn was not built to be buried in some museum. He says that it is the finest instrument that he has ever built. I am sure that there is 0% comprimise in this horn. I did have an opportunity to play one of his Raja Samhadi Bb horns a couple years ago. The sound is very unique and for sure not suitable for every playing position on the planet, but talk about easy to play, secure, in tune, fun, flexible................ It had it all. The down side for me is the weight (over 7 Lbs) and a price that I cannot afford. That is just cost of business and my financial situation! It does not make the result less grreat!
