The Finalists...

Ok, as some of you may recall, I was looking at a new horn some time ago. Well, having done research and shopping, I think I have 3 finalists. I would like anyone who has played, tried out, owned, sold, etc. one of these horns to give me their experiences, likes, dislikes, etc.

Kanstul 1500 (standard finish and silver plated)
Calicchio R32
Conn V1BR-GP (or whatever the gold plated-rosebrass bell # is).

The prices, that I got from Woodwind and Brasswind, are within a 100 dollars if I recall correctly, so that is not a factor on this one (and really shouldn't be if you wanna argue it). Any help would be appreciated.

camel lips is an unknown quantity at this point
Ive played on two different Conn V1 and they were both Yellow brass.

I was very pleased with the silver plate in the yellow and I have one coming in.I have not found any horn(even the ones you mention)that players even close.Ok,one noteable exception was the wild thing.

The Kanstul's are great horns but valves can be a bit sticky at first. They tend to smooth up in a few months.

Go for the Conn with the 46 pipe rose brass and gold plate and you will be forever happy.Tow slides,a dbl case and heavy valve caps? What more could a guy ask for?

I got a screamer of a deal quote at Washington music BTW.
