Get ready to DROOL....

I teeter between being totally thrilled for the guy and hating the fact that he keeps coming up with new...improved...gorgeous designs. hahaha.

You are not gonna believe the new Signature line from Stage 1 - Felix Vayser.

Scroll down...wipe that drool off your face and keyboard...

I understand these have interchangeable leadpipes and bells. Combinations galore. My head is spinning already. hhahahaha..

Great, Felix.

Tony....I am being prodded to host another Charlotte Trumpet Fest..., so I might get to see those before you. hahahaha.

We'll see how it goes. I told Felix that I half want to try them all and half want to run the other way...hahaha. Man, he comes up with some beauts. These are better than the previous cooperative efforts between Felix and Anton Possegger???? yikes. That is really saying something.

For the leadpipe...there is an outer, visible shell - then, the actual tapered leadpipe fits inside that. (notice the knob at the receiver...this twists off to remove the inner leadpipe).

For the bells...each brace has a knob that also unscrews to release the bell at the brace...and it slides off like a tuning slide at the valve block.

Very cool...and certainly allows for customization of things.

I'm not drooling. I must not have a conditioned response to that stimulus, as Pavlov would say.....

Re: Get ready to DROOL....

Brad,
When is your show going to happen? Dont buy all those new horns, give us all a shot!! I might go up to NYC next week to check them out, esp. no that you might get to them first

The Bells are set up much like an Eb long bell horn. A few knobs with threads on the bracing and you can switch them out. I dont think they are meant to be switched all the time, just so you can get a good set up.

The leadpipe is a lot like a picc., but with a sleeve the leadpipe is totally encased in. I have one of the NY Stage 1 possegger horns and if these are better than it I am afraid....very afraid............

On a side note, I ordered one of the Best Brass mouthpieces and man, it plays very nice. Not sure if the size I got was the best one for me but I am very impressed with the mouthpiece. Looks very cool in the horn too

Re: Get ready to DROOL....

Tony....honestly, I've only been asked (locally) about/if we would like to do another show. My real concern/wish is to reach students - and I am excited to show Felix's horns off to everyone (they are that good!)...but educationally, is what I'm speaking of. I did not do my show in conjunction with any school. I had a great turn out, but my concept is to share the vast knowledge of the pros in our area with students of the instrument. I did not have many younger folks (college and below) at our show. I'd like to come up with a way to focus on that better - perhaps even tie in with an existing event that students will be participating in... so "they" could benefit. Not only about playing trumpet in the working world, but yes..."talking" trumpet with them - giving the rare opportunity to see some of Felix's incredible work.

All that to say? ....ha.... I have not found my opportunity for a show yet. I will probably begin putting out feelers with some college professors and band directors to see what the fall schedule looks like. Perhaps there will be a festival or contest where we can tie in. Personally, I like that concept. I loved how our festival ended up. Don't get me wrong. I am forever grateful for the great folks who attended. Our informal discussion time was priceless. To tie all that in - in addition to reaching students?? Great. That's my goal.

Go see those horns and report back!!!
