Brett, it is good to have you check by over here once in a while. Thanks for your help with my horn. I look forward to the news that your new tank is up and running soon. I wish you all the best and thank you for making one of the greatest horns I have ever played. The Genesis is so amazing!

Dan, it sounds like you have a lot to worry about with the problems with the finish on your Getzen, so you can send your Eclipse to me and I'll be happy to watch over it for you!!!

No need to thank me! I'm more than happy to do it for you! It just so happens I'll be in Dallas for the next three days so all you need to do is get it up to the Courtyard at Legacy Park!

Brett Getzen

Just to keep everyone up to speed on the Getzen gold plating problem. I called the company today and they still have not gotten their new plating tanks in or operational. I am taking Brett at his word that this is going to happen but the Nov. 1 date seems out of reach at this point? Darn.

In the mean time, my Genesis is taking on an ever increasing golden/silver tarnished, freckle like patina with each passing week. Kind of like a science experiment in the making...fasinating, NOT!

Even if it is not 1 November, here is a company directly addressing QC problems openly. I have a lot of respect for any manufacturer that has the guts to say "our mistake" and then fix it. I will definitely play test the Getzen instruments soon and if all is OK (as it should be) would have an alternative for my students.
Who distributes Getzen in Germany?

Our distributors in Germany are either Musik Bertram in Freiburg and Arnold Stolzel GMBH. Bertram also has a retail store.

Gold Update: The tanks came in while I was on jury duty earlier this week. Of course, when time is an issue, they took longer than expected to get here. And naturally, they aren't right. We have to make some modifications to the layout of the plating tank, but nothing that should be a huge problem. Hopefully we should be up and running within the next 2-3 weeks. Fingers crossed.

Well, for anyone else facing this Getzen plating issue, here is the latest from Brett. We are getting closer...

"...The new tank is installed and all hooked up to the rectifier..... finally. Thanksgiving week is going to slow down the startup of the tank since the plating department supervisor has vacation. However, by the Tuesday after Thanksgiving the tank should be up and running. After about of week of testing, it should be good to go.

I hope that by the first full week of December we will be running new horns and warranty repairs."

Say the word Brett and it's in the mail!
