Is this a good horn.

I'm trying to find a cheap(er) professional horn.

Conn SN# 216188 26B Silver MINT: HornTrader

On a side note: if you are looking to get rid of a Strad/Xeno/or other then tell me. I'm looking for a great deal on a professional horn for college.

Thanks.

It's beat up though :(
I want a good looking horn (even though I know it doesn't affect playing)

It just miss some silver....I love "hairy horns", with soul... I would have bought it, and stripped of the silver... (not telling you to do so)

Re: Is this a good horn.

Unless you're a Conn collector, that is a lot of money. You can find a 2B (which it says in the description is the same horn) or a 22B (they will both play great) of the same vintage for a few hundred dollars.

Have you stripped silver plating before? It is NOT an easy prospect by any stretch of the imagination. IMO that would be the WORST thing to do to that strad.

Best would be to leave it as it is and play the (*&$ out of it!

The 26B is nice, but worth about $800.

I'd recommend the Olds:

It's still in collector's condition and is likely a fantastic player.

I'll second what Veery said. If you really want to spend that much then
the Olds would be a much better choice.

Tell the seller your situation and perhaps he will have a heart and sell you
it at a discount.
