| Pianissimo User | GRR MISSING TRUMPET!! Im extremely angry, My school horn(Silver Getzen Capri 590) was one of two stolen from from the band lockers at the Schottenstein center last night. Since it was in my care, I am gonna have to replace it if it cant be located soon. Does anyone know where there might any really good deals on a used silver Capri if it cant be found? I dont have the money to replace it with a new one, but a used one in decent shape is acceptable. Just has to be a Silver Getzen Capri 590 or 590-S. Thanks Guys |

![]() | Martin, If your horn was not in your direct control. Then you are not responsible. If it was a school owned instrument, and in their control then they are responsible for its security. Was the theft reported to the police? If so, then the school has shown that it is responsible for the security of the instruments. I would refuse to be held responsible for replacing the instrument. Let the school know this fact. If they take any action against you, then they would be liable in a law suit for any damages plus mental anguish. Speak to an attorney about this before trying to replace the horn. It seems that the school is trying to get out of this cheap, by placing the onus on you, a minor (assuming you are under 18 years of age). Gary Lapine

| Pianissimo User | im no minor, this is at Ohio State. School horns are the responsbility of the player that plays them here, since we have to sign for them to take them out, and for marching band everyone uses a school horn. The room we have at the schott wasnt locked like like we understood it was to be and someone got in to take a horn(2 of them actually) |
