![]() | Heavy Bottom Cap update I bought a set of Harrelson bottom caps for my 30xxx Bach Strad. My old baby had been getting a little squirrelly and I thought it would be worth a try since I have heavy bottoms on my Harrelson. I've been playing with them for a couple months now, and last night I was playing a gig and noticed that thi8ngs were going exceptionally well compared to the way they had been going a couple months ago. I'm in love with my old Bach again!!! I'm not sure if it is the Hawthorne effect, or if they really are making a big difference, but I raelized that on a long job I'm finding my horn easier to play in the center of each pitch and that the sound is just warmer and in my case darker, but the sound still cuts!

![]() | Re: Heavy Bottom Cap update One guy I respect has said more time practicing is worth more but has acknowledged a slotting difference in heavy caps. His recommendation was to try one on either the 1st or 3rd valve with the 3rd valve having most effect. Either you will like it or not.
