| Herseth's Schilke E flat Does any one know what type of bell Herseth uses on his Schilke E flat? I was looking over the Smithsonian interview with him from 94 and it had a picture of his E flat with a huge raw brass bell. I have heard that it was done by wayne tanabe. Does any one have anything they can add to that? Just curious. |

| Herseth's Eb Bell I'm sorry, but you are mistaken. The #4 bell is the standard bell on the E3L and the bell Bud has on his Eb is the #1 bell which, at the time it was made, was called the "A" bell. Incidently, I was present the first time he used the instrument(on the "D" side) at the wedding ceremony of Joan Schilke. Like most Schilke instruments, the horn outlasted the marriage :( Rick |
