![]() | Holton T101? (want info) Looking across the forums for info about trumpets, i stumbled upon a post saying that Holton T101's are just as good as bach strads or yamaha xenos. I went to brass review and saw it had 7 reviews at a 10.0 out of ten, and the average price was $475. I am wondering, is this true? Are they that good for such a low price? Thanks

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Holton T101? (want info) The Holton T101 is a very underrated horn. I think more people don't play them because you can't find them in music stores to try out. They are basically a Bach clone, but compared to a Bach, the sound is a bit lighter and the horn feels more nimble and easier to get around on. A friend of mine bought one on ebay for $250 that was rather beat, but played great. He originally bought it because his last name is Holton, and he thought it would be cool to own Holton. He played it for a month or two and loved it, I quote him: "I can't imagine a trumpet playing better than this!" He's very excitable. He went back to his Bach because a guy in the Met told him that the low register on the horn wasn't good, so he decided that the low register on the horn wasn't good. The horn didn't change, but what he thought was coming out of the horn did.
