![]() | Horn Criteria Help I'm looking for a trumpet with these criteria- 1.It must be a professional horn 2.It must be silver 3.It must have a large or extra large bore 4.It can be used 5. <$750 If anybody could give suggestions on horns that fit these criteria that would be very helpful. Also, If you could give suggestions on sites to look for horns like these. Preferably not eBay, My parents are paranoid of it.

Silver is pretty. $750 means pretty used as it is 1/2 the price where new ones start. One of the best deals are used Yamaha 6xxx series trumpets. Forget about the bore size, they play incredibly well.

Some that fit your criteria are Benge LA 3X+, Yamaha 6345S, Yamaha 6340ST, French Besson .464, Yamaha 738/739T. The Bach L bore (.462) in silver will be more than you want to spend used. You won't be able to touch a Schilke for under $1200 used usually. Why not buy a more open tuning slide for the Getzen that you already have? That should make it play big. A cheaper alternative, as M/K Drawing would probably make one for about $160. Pete

![]() | Re: Horn Criteria Help I would suggest you try to find a Connstellation..prices are still reasonable and it's a lot of horn for the money. |
