| Interesting Bach combinations One of the best Bachs I've ever played was a L bore lightweight with a 7 leadpipe and a 38* bell. Does anyone out there play any interesting leadpipe/bell/bore combinations like that (or totally different from that)? |

| I have one. It is not exactly a Bach, but a Yamaha 734 Light Weight with a Taylor 1 piece heavy leadpipe and ovate(asymmetric) tuning slide. As well as Taylor recessed top caps with heavy buttons a heavy bottom caps. Plays a lot better than the original. Really amazing. Felix |

| Yamaha/Taylor Conversion At first I did not know what it was until Felix pointed it out to me. The lead pipe added alot of stability to the horn unlike the Bobby Shew model I owned years ago. Although lighter in comparison to the other horns I tried that day this horn really spoke in the middle to high registers... I felt that it had a warmer tone than most other Yamahas in it's class. Andy Taylor does tremendous work and should be commended on his build quality compared to most other horns.. There is just something about the European craftmanship that seems to be a notch above! | Forte User | Did Taylor do anything with the bell? I know that he has a certain affinity for bells, being a one-time french horn craftsman. Its still crazy, how those valves look. They almost look like you would have no chance working them! Van |
