| ITG Exhibitors I’ve contacted the ITG Conference organizers on this, but I thought it would be interesting to run it by you folks also. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to play test Bach, Yamaha, Schilke, Eclipse etc etc.. SIDE BY SIDE? I’ve suggested that ITG propose this to the exhibitors. It may be a logistical nightmare to have a room for each pitch of instrument, but it would be an interesting experiment and I believe a wonderful opportunity for us end-users. Maybe as a start only a room for Eb and another for Picc. Your thoughts? |

| Re: ITG Exhibitors Many of the makers will allow you to take their instruments into the practice rooms, so if you find a couple that you are torn between, you can do just that. Purely personally, I like being able to go to each of the manufacturers and chat to them about their various instruments - makers like NYTC, Eclipse, Galileo et al, are all such enthusiasts about their instruments that having the makers and instruments together is a definite plus point for me. It also means that they are able to advise - in other words, if you like certain aspects of one of their instruments, but are looking for something slightly different - they can probably suggest something else from their line. The thought of one room with lots of piccolos - yes it could be fun if you were in there alone, but that wouldn't happen - it would be full of people not quite being able to play Brandenburg (going from past years). And imagine the C trumpet room - how many Mahler 5's would be allowed at once? |
