Jaeger "New York" Model-Great!

Just got one of the "older" models. It plays amazingly well...Bauerfeind valves....perfect intonation, 5" bell...what's not to like!!! Highly recommended.

Re: Jaeger "New York" Model-Great!

Sure, here is the site - Trumpets

I have about 30 other pro trumpets and the Jaeger is surely the best IN MY OPINION. Also, the valves are absolutely the best. It is a .460 bore, gold-colored laquer and plays VERY effortlessly. I'm seriously thinking of buying another one just in case they become scarce.......

Re: Jaeger "New York" Model-Great!

I have met Ivan a couple times, nice guy and a great cornetist.

I always thought his entry level trumpets were the best on the market, better than a lot of pro horns.

I might like to try one of those.

If you see him, tell him I said hello.

ps

We were at the ITG in NJ, I was at the Eclipse display and he was in the same room with his horns. I started playing "Washington Grays" and he joined in and played along with me. We had a great time all week. He got a lot of looks being in the same room as Eclipse and New York Trumpet Company.

Re: Jaeger "New York" Model-Great!

I have been to his shop and spent some time with him. Ivan is a very interesting fellow. Spending time with him is like being with a great inventor. He is always thinking about better solutions for trumpets....how to make them better.....always has an open mind as to what the player thinks. Excellent repairman as well.

The only reason his trumpets don't sell more is because they are too inexpensive.....if he raised his prices and started to talk up his horns he would sell more...

Do you own any of his horns? What would you compare his horns to?

Are these horns manufactured in the U.S.? I know the valves are German but the rest?

Re: Jaeger "New York" Model-Great!

Looks like a fine instrument! I would say they are made in Germany, from inferences on their website to Baumann trumpets making a production run of an earlier model, but they could clear that up.
