![]() | Kanstul and Olds Recording Does Kanstul now make a trumpet that corresponds closely to an OLDS Recording trumpet? If so, which one is it? Thanks.

![]() | Re: Kanstul and Olds Recording As far as I know, the Kanstul KTR-1500 should be near the recording. Leadpipe 25-O together with a 7 heavy copper bell. Herbert

![]() | Re: Kanstul and Olds Recording I have just read the article on "jazzgeeks.com" (courtesy DCB's link) about the re-manufacturing of the Olds Recording. I dunno who the guy was that wrote it but I had to smile at the guys nitpicking on Taylors bonny effort at Recording Replication (quote): "Although, it is a beautiful instrument; it just wasn't the same. When we spoke I asked Mr. Taylor if he could make just one with the offset middle valve." etc etc etc. The middle valve positioning was such a big aspect of keeping the horn as original as poss, yet the outcome on the new build was (quote): "But, we added a 5" diameter bell, a rounded tuning slide crook, and heavy bottom valve caps. Also, it has amati water keys on the tuning slide and third valve slide". "I want it to be exactly identical but.......", Mmmmmm wossatalabout then?????
