![]() | Re: kanstul wayne bergeron trumpet? A friend of mine has on of these, and it is a very good horn - you can actually get a very good all-around sound, good for more than lead playing. great scratch-brush finish, too, although I've also seen them in straight laquer. Now that Wayne has gone to Yamaha it's no longer made with his name on it, although I think the model is still produced. I haven't played the Yamaha WB model yet, but I'm sure that one plays well, too.

![]() | Re: kanstul wayne bergeron trumpet? Kanstul makes a fine trumpet regardless of the model. The Bergeron model is now called the 1600. I have played on one a few times and liked it. "Is it a good horn"? Yes, but you really need to be more specific with what you are looking for in a horn and the bottom line is that you need to try one and come to your own conclusion. I own a Kanstul 1500 and have been very happy with it. Kanstul makes a consistently good product, so do several other manufacturers. |

![]() | Re: kanstul wayne bergeron trumpet? The Kanstul Bergeron Model - now called the 1600 Model is a wonderful playing horn. It was based on Kanstul 1504 model with a 72 bell and a 43 leadpipe. Zig Kanstul created a special leadpipe to suit Wayne. He played it many years before going to Yamaha. I still prefer the Kanstul Bergeron to his new horn with Yamaha. It is a great all-around horn that can be used in a variety of playing situation. If you push the horn it will really light up. However, it can be played in a section and blend in with the other horns quite well. Kanstul makes a variety of horns. The 1600 and the 1503 are my favorites. Mike
