King 1117s

Am I the only one who uses this horn for commercial playing? Any one else have opinions of the horn? It's marketed as a "marching" horn and is where I first played one in corps. However I fell in love with it and play one regularly. It's very similiar to the silver flair (larger bell and slightly higher angle).

btw, for my flugle work i use a CV1

Re: King 1117s

I don't know about this horn: any chance you could post pics? Any idea of a build date?

Thanks!

Re: King 1117s

I'll just post the info from King's website...Welcome to the home of the Kings of the Field and King Ultimate Marching Brass

This unique trumpet delivers a powerhouse sound through its dynamically angled bell. Strategic bracing makes this horn perfect for high-energy maneuvers. Bb, 5-1/8" seamless bell, .462" bore, nickel plated pistons, 1st slide saddle, nickel inner slide tubes

Never heard of it, but if it works for you then enjoy it. Looks like it's marketed directly to the drum corps crowd, so there's probably not oo many people outside the activity who play one...
