![]() | King 2070CSP "Legend" C Trumpet Hi all. I am considering purchasing my first C trumpet. I saw a web only special on the King 2070CSP "Legend" C Trumpet for what seems like a really good price at Dillon's. Do any of youhave one of these horns? What do you think of it? My regular horn is a Bach 37 Ser# 92539, will I like the way the King Sounds, feels? Any input will be helpful. Stan

![]() | Re: King 2070CSP "Legend" C Trumpet I play on a King Legend Bb, bought it in eighth grade. I was probably going more by FEEL than by SOUND. The Kings, in general, tend to sound a little bright for my taste. The reverse leadpipe on the Legend makes the blow a little more open than most standard leadpipe Bachs. They're decent jazz horns, but to be totally honest I can't WAIT to replace my Bb with something darker. The intonation isn't spectacular either. If you like the way your 37 sounds, I wouldn't recommend a King, especially not for a C. Looking back now, I wish that I had waited a little longer or gotten more input from my teacher before I bought my first pro horn. My suggestion: Go to Dillon's and look around. Try a variety of brands, and bring someone with you if you can. A second set of ears can be really helpful for choosing equipment.

![]() | Re: King 2070CSP "Legend" C Trumpet Fire, After you have a chance to play the King C, let us know how she sounded, played, and felt. Good Luck, Richard p.s. lots of good resources here on C trumpets, especially if you aren't in a rush. |

![]() | Re: King 2070CSP "Legend" C Trumpet Well after much procrastination, I actually bought one of these horns. I have only had it for about 2 weeks now but I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by it. With my 1C mouthpiece I can get a nice rich tone albeit slightly brighter than my Bach. The horn blows almost as easily as my Bach and slotting is very good. Intonnation is also fairly good. All in all this is a great horn for the price and is way under rated. It's too bad they stopped producing these.
