![]() | Re: King Silvertone? They are most likely one in the same. Liberty Model trumpets with a sterling silver bell were Silver Tone instruments. Later the term became Silversonic. H N White Sterling Silver Bells. Silver Tone and Silversonic Instruments check the link above it will explain it all. There is a ton of King related info on this site. You should be able to find everything you need.

![]() | Re: King Silvertone? Ok, I'll try again. I had the valves replated on my Yamaha ytr-734 back in 2000 and borrowed a King Super 20 Symphony - Silversonic (sorry if I got the order of these words backwards) from someone while my horn was away. This horn was a larger bore horn (maybe a dual bore) than I aws used to and it tired me out at first. It was very free blowing, good intonation and really sounded great. It was great for playing loud and projecting into next week. I didn't like the feel of the first slide ring (it had a 1/2 inch gap between the ring and the valve cluster). The horn must have been made to accomodate someone with huge hands. For me this horn was a lot of work to play, those used to large bore horns may have a different opinion. The Liberty horn that I had is a medium bore horn and is really easy to play. It has a nice warm tone and seems to project better than my Conn Vintage One. Has some intonation issues but this may be caused by having the leadpipe fixed. It had been twisted by the previous owner attempting to remove a stuck mouthpiece. Anyway, I liked them both but much more comfortable playing the Liberty.
