Lawler's next horn

All I know so far is it's to be called the "Pole Star". Anyone have any breaths of knowledge beyond that? According to his site, it's due for release mid-September.

Uniquetrumpet will become famous soon enough
The "pole star" and the "pea shooter" are actually two different projects. The "pole star" is a large bore horn that is supposed be a very bright playing horn......it looks like that horn should be out this month. The "pea shooter" seems to be at an experimental stage and that horn is a very small bore horn based on the specs of old "pea shooter" horns from the 30's and 40's.

Well, the feedback we were getting over on Trumpet Herald is that the horn is a small bore, not a peashooter. The two are different animals with a peashooter having a very tight wrap, a lot of resistance, very bright to shrill sound. The small bores are horns like the 22b's, which have moderate/low resistance, are easy to play and have a lot of sound. A lot of good things to include such as nickle plated inner slides, integrated receiver/leadpipe..etc, were suggested as well. It will be interesting to see what Roy comes up with!

I will be prototyping a Pea-Shooter this month. It will be all brass construction with a .437 bore. We will see.....As far as the next Remnant I am leaning towards the Olds Recording.

Yes I got the peashooter confused with the Pole Star, sorry. Here's the link to the Pole Star thread on TH.

Brian H. Smout is on a distinguished road
So the people who will play Pole Stars may be referred to as "Pole Cats"?

Sorry, the question was begged

Cheers,

Brian
