![]() | Leigh has my order and is building it! So I just got off the phone with Leigh and for those of you who are interested he agreed to build me EXACTLY what I asked for. Glenn not only am I jumping up and down and spinning in circles yelling WEEEEEEEEEE; but I’m also just flat out over-dosed on sheer happiness. I selfishly so needed this! So here it is…… I told Leigh that I wanted the trumpet to have meaning past where it came from. So I asked for some personalization which he agreed to. As you know I’m from the metro Detroit area and proud to call it home. No matter where my butt is I’ll always have the “D” in my heart. So here’s what I asked Leigh to build for me. I asked for a Bb MR in 24k shinny Gold finish I asked that the leadpipe have a pinky hook on it as I’m somewhat of a traditionalist and that it also have traditional water keys. I asked that he give it rings on the 1st and 3rd valve slides. I asked that the bottom bracing use my initials (JS) and that he place an old English “D” in the tuning slide. His reply, “No problem I’ll start building it tomorrow and send you pictures of it in various states of it’s production.” To say that I’m a bit excited isn’t even close to where I’m at right now….. More to follow; stay tuned.

The thread is almost useless without pics. When they are available I will indeed share them. I almost forgot one of the coolest parts. Leigh told me that he would take a few weeks or so to "Get it right" and have my horn play tested by Noel and some of the "London Symphony Folks" I almost soiled myself! Never in my life did I imagine I'd ever be in a position like this. What an incredible journey this has been!

London Symphony Orchestra London Philharmonic Royal Philharmonic Philharmonia Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Academy of Ancient Music BBC Symphony Orchestra BBC Concert Orchestra Royal Opera House, Covent Garden English Chamber Orchestra City of London Symphonia I’m sure I’ve probably forgotten a few, but when you think about most big cities in the US with one prominent orchestra, London has a dozen or more!
