| Lint free cloth for cleaning valves/casings I am wondering what the pros use out there to clean there valves and valve casings after a good cleaning, to get them dry and "LINT FREE" I have asked at my local music store but they only seem to have "a trumpet cleaning" kit and the blue cloth that comes with it is full of lint! Can anyone suggest a good product to use?! Also what do people use on a gold plated trumpet to wipe finger marks off etc. to polish it. I was suggested to me the selmer polishing cloth, but it has a chemical on it , although it says for silver and gold plate. When I polish my horn I get a lot of black residue on the trumpet. I was also told to use tarni-shield by 3M to clean the Gold plated trumpet to get the oxidization off it. One more thing, I bought this trumpet and after cleaning and flushing /rinsing out I have discovered that inside the second valve casing there are 3 small yet fairly deep gouges in it, as well as a gouge on the third valve near the first port hole and a slight gouge near the bottom of the first valve. Are these gouges going to cause many problems, one of which would be leakage of air. I am concerned that they may cause some major problems down the road!! Any helpfull comments/suggestions!! Thanks! retjazz |

You can get them at any automotive store, they absorb oil and water, are easy to clean and have by definition no lint. I have never found anything else that comes close. Suggestion: cut a small strip and you can use it to wipe out the leadpipe and tuning slide after every use! |
