B15M has a spectacular aura about
Martin Imperial

I have a chance to buy a Martin Imperial trumpet. I don't know much about Martin. It looks to be in very good condition.

I'm told it is from about 1935 or so. I played it for a while and it plays ok but I had to put the slide all the way in to play in tune.

It has a lot of copper on it. Upper half of the valves and on the lead pipe and some slides.

serial # 130479 there is a #3 stamped under the serial #

If you guys could please tell me what you think it's worth.

Aahhh ...

B15M (a/k/a "trumpetchops" on the other forum) --

I hope you aren't disenchanted at this point. As you're probably learning, the value of a horn like this is difficult to pinpoint.

A few-hundred American dollars.

Maybe, print-off some of the comments you've read, and present that to the seller. Should lend some creedence, I would think ... (?).

Robt

Re: Martin Imperial

I wanted to be TC here but some one who never posts beat me to the name. Maybe it's available now but it doesn't matter any more.
