![]() | Re: Maryland Trumpet Day I didn't video anything...but it was awesome. Good clinics, good info. Bergeron was great in his clinic...and awesome as always in his concert...in spite of a busted lip!!! Sure couldn't tell it out in the audience. Only downside was "due to the limited nature" of the event the auditoreum was NOT full...shame. "Donation only" concert with Bergeron. Now...how often is that going to happen!!?? He sure didn't act like he even noticed...but he deserved a standing room only gig. For the price....YOU CANNOT BEAT this annual event! In needs greater support and recognition throughout the Maryland area. Dominico did a fantastic job setting this up, but probably could use some help in the future. Dizzyizzy

![]() | Re: Maryland Trumpet Day I am glad you guys had a good time. This event has grown to be a pretty serious undertaking, especially for one guy and a helpful wife. I will be honest, the turnout for a guy like Wayne should be huge. Especially since I have done everything I can to keep this event free to the public (we just ask for donations at the door). The donations have been good each year and I dont see a reason to change what we have going. I just wish we could have had the place packed all day, or at the least for the concert. We advertised this year, we had a local TV post, it was sent out to every Music Supervisor in Maryland, I posted on TM and TH repeatedly, it was on Wayne's and many of the other vendors sites, ............................not sure what else to do. I am opened for suggestions. The concerts where tremendous, the vendors where great, the clinics wonderful. the only problem with running a show is I dont get to do much Thank you all for coming and for the support. Any questions or comments send them my way. miles71@comcast.net Tony Domenico |

Tony: Since you are open for suggestions, here is mine: Focus on targeting the "older pro" players more. It almost seems like the event is mostly for high school or Junior high kids....this may put off many of the "pro" and even "semi-pro" trumpeters in this area. Also, one comment I heard some years back was that some of the "experts" or "trumpet clinicians" you had seemed to talk down to the attendees......this would certainly cause me to not come back......just my 2 cents...... | |

![]() | Re: Maryland Trumpet Day Hmm, I am interested in that suggestion. The MTD is geared towards education and a lot of the attendees are public school aged kids, but only one clinic this year was aimed at that age group. All of the clinics I stopped by where talking about very high end concepts. Appropriate to the older, more seasoned player. As far as clinicians "talking down" to the crowd, please let me know via PM who this was so I can address it. I do not want anyone to feel uncomfortable at the show, and have no problem talking to any of the clinicians. Keep the comments coming. TD |

![]() | Re: Maryland Trumpet Day I thought the concert with Wayne was well attended. It's a big auditorium. There were lots of people there who weren't around during the day. Also, there were folks who came during the day and decided - mostly due to how far they had to drive - not to stay for the concert. And remember, it had been an absolutely crappy day - hard rain, and cold. I know people who had planned to come to MTD who didn't because the weather made the traffic so ugly on I95. Until this year I'd been to every clinic in MTD history -- this year I was in the exhibit hall for the most part -- many were very good, and one was a bit strange. But I'd venture that if someone felt "talked down to" as a matter of course, the problem may be on the receiving end. Certainly one poor clinic experience (and of course not all clinics are going to be a home run with everyone in the room) would be a poor reason to avoid future MTD events - IMO. |
