![]() | matched?? horns Hi folks, I just signed on a couple days ago and wondered if anyone has horns similar to mine. I have a Selmer Paris Radial Bb - # 53521 and a Selmer Paris Radial C - #53565 It would seem that they were both in the factory at the same week, if not the same day. Just wondered if anyone else has a set of "Factory Mates" Keep playing, Michael

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: matched?? horns I only have the radial D/Eb. I had Bach factory mates and after a while thought that that was a disadvantage. Mismatched horns offer a greater palette of color. That can be of big advantage to various music styles, has to work in the ensembles that we play with however. The radial valves are a BRILLIANT invention. It is a shame that not more manufacturers jumped onto the bandwagon. A technician at Bauerfeind said that they are MUCH more expensive to build than conventional valves. With >$4K trumpets being saleable, I can't imagine that this is a problem. Maybe Felix at NYTC has some input here?

![]() | Re: matched?? horns Anyone know if there was ever a radial Picc.? Until only a couple years ago, I didn't know about the C and now I find out about a D/Eb. Interesting. They must have been marked much more heavily in Europe. M

![]() | Re: matched?? horns I just sold a matched set (gold and silver, the last serial # of each built) of Bach Stradivarius Field Trumpets (bugles) to fund the purchase of a matched set of gold plated Lawler trumpet and cornet. I already have a silver Lawler T, and next Spring I'll order a gold Lawler in C to complete my set. I'm big on the set thing. I think consistency makes me a better player when switching horns. And I love my Radial Bb BTW. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: matched?? horns Nope, there has never been a radial pic. I wanted to have one built and Bauerfeind said a cluster of 4 valves is very hard and therefore VERY expensive to build.
