![]() | Melk Conversion Hey guys, I'm thinking about having a C trumpet converted into a Eb and heard alot about Charlie's work. Any of you have any expierence with his Bach Eb conversion horns? Its the last horn I need for my "stable"

![]() | Re: Melk Conversion They're awesome. Period. Great intonation, great blow...everything you want in a trumpet. If I didn't have a Blackburn E-flat...I'd have a Melk conversion..in a minute. In fact, if I actually had NEED for two E-flats, I'd definitely own one...

| Mezzo Forte User | Re: Melk Conversion I had one made from a ML Bb, now I have Schilke. If you want an Eb to play like a big horn, get the Melk conversion, but if you want a lighter or smaller feeling horn get a schilke or yamaha. I loved playing the Melk in orchestra, but felt it was hard to play light on Haydn, Hummel, etc. Thats just my opinion, there are a lot of people that love them even on the solo rep. The play differently depending on what horn it was originally. I played one that started off as an Eb and I think it played better than mine. What bore is your C? I think Charlie recommends that they are best when built on a ML.
