Monette 149XL

All:
I'm not really a musician, but today at my job i found (yes found) a Monette 149XL. I gotta ask my boss if he'll let me keep it (he's ignorant to it's value). If he does, I'm going to want to sell it. Any help/suggestions? It seems to be in perfect condition, and i'm going to take pictures of it tonight i can link to. The only bad thing is that there was a Yamaha mouthpiece instead of the Monette one. How much would you think it would be worth. I called Monette and they said it was manufactured in 1989. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Monette 149XL

What the heck do you do for a living? ... and please don't tell us you work at a Pawn Shop. I am glad to hear you called Monette though... if it was HOT they would know about it.

Re: Monette 149XL

I don't want to give too much away because of the amount of money we're talking.. It's certainly not "hot". The company i work for bought it in 1989, and seems to have completely forgotten about it, i'm sure it's not on any of the paperwork on anything like that. I'm thinking my boss will let me keep it.

Hi,

You "holding out" on your boss? Is that legal?

Re: Monette 149XL

I wouldn't call it holding out, but certainly not telling him the value of this instrument. If i do get to keep it and sell it, i'm certainly having a big beer party with some of the money to kind of make it all even, without them knowing the full extent of what happened.
