When I bought mine, the deposit was relatively small, less than $1000, but I don't remember exactly, and the balance didn't have to be paid until the horn was ready to ship. So, I don't know about financing, but the wait list is over a year, so you have some time to finish coming up with the cash.

Re: Monette Trumpets?

While y'all are talking about prices, feel, etc...

If anyone has a MF or an XLT horn (Prana or oldy) they want to donate to the "Get Tim's open mouth off the floor when he looks at these horns" fund. Feel free to PM me.

HA. In my dreams.... whew. One day.

Not sure about financing and all that but everytime I call and talk to Gretchen or Dean, they always take the time to answer my questions though they know its me and I can't afford any of it, lol.

Re: Monette Trumpets?

I think, both as professional player as well as trumpet maker, that Monette trumpets are the only real evolution to the trumpet of the last century.
I'm proud to be a Monette owner, but really proud of that my customers say that my horns play like Monette's trumpets (although those are not a copy, got different engineering).
Play, feel... the put your brain to work and decide...
Those are wonderful horns, but different. Super-horns, not regular ones.

Nope. He builds 6 trumpets per month and has a waiting list that is 14-16 months long. No reason to finance.

The deposit is $500. The rest is due shortly before completion of the instrument. On mine it was before they sent it for gold plating.

I think that Leigh McKinney's moving the tuning slide to the bell crook like a trombone on his Eclipse trumpets fits that evolution.

I second that. I am insanely curious to get an Eclipse and a Monette built for the same purpose and do a side-by-side comparison. Any have any experience like this? I know there are tons of "bell reveiws" but what about an Eclipse and Monette side-by-side....

I'll volunteer to test! lol.

Except that you get that on some old big F trumpets from the late 19th century.

Example here:
