Monette Trumpets?

Hey, anybody out there have a Monette? I've seen them, and they look awesome, and reportedly they play that way too. But, they're expensive.... Whaddya say?

Re: Monette Trumpets?

Just search a bit on the forums and you'll find quite a bit about them...I had an older model, a 149XL. Nice horn...the new Prana models are amazing, however. But ridiculously expensive.

Some people like them, some people don't, just like any other horn.

Re: Monette Trumpets?

I have a Prana3. It is my second Monette.

There is no decision so gratifying as one not involving any comprimise. That sums up my Monette experience.

Re: Monette Trumpets?

You will find a lot of people with brand loyalty on these sites, it's like Schwab said "some people like them, some people don't, just like any other horn". Remember all ways try before you buy ,it's whats feels and works best for you that counts, that's why there are so many different professional brands and models out there.

Re: Monette Trumpets?

If you're really interested...invest in a trip to Portland to visit the shop. You can try out mouthpieces and horns. I did this summer (I'm already a Monette mouthpiece client) and now am saving up for a Prana 3 STC. I'm not personally loyal to one brand (see my signature below) but IMHO I haven't played anything that comes close to the Monette trumpets. Try out everything you are interested in then make the choice that best fits you.

He probably have enough money! If you make $10,000.00 a month, then you can afford 5 Monettes...
