Smile More Stage 1 Candy...mine!

Well, looks like my Stage 1 Custom California is almost done...Garry just emailed me this picture today-it's still in pieces but will be done with final assembly probably on Monday, and play testing will be Tuesday and Wednesday...so maybe I'll get it the week after this coming one. Anyway...here is the pic...

Re: More Stage 1 Candy...mine!

I never understood why the pinky, 1st and 3 valve slide rings should be that wide...I just don't get it. Adding weight to the ring wil hardly change the way the horns sounds and it look unconfortable to me...Well, I never tried one but it looks weird to me...Can anyone illuminate me on this? Felix?

Nick,it is all very simple and has nothing to do with the sound,or chaging the vibration and resonance.I personally never thought that FINGER rings have anything to do with sound.:)
Americans have large fingers, therefore the rings are wider and bigger.:)
All jokes aside,3rd slide and a pinkie rings are actually the same size as Yamaha, and first slide ring is bigger because we had few customers with fingers that did not fit.

Re: More Stage 1 Candy...mine!

Actually, I did not mean the deameter size, but that was an useful information. I meant that they are quite wide(or should I say thick? I meant the width of the stripe and not the diameter size)) compare to Bach trumpets rings that looks a bit more delicate (well, bach was putting saddles on 1st valve and pinky). I should say that on horns like Romeo Adaci, Taylor, some Monette and the Stage 1XH which is on your signature section this looks quite logic and coherent. Finally, I guess that this is just a question of personal taste

Big is beautiful, right? that was an american saying if my memory serves me well
