My new horn

Well, after 6 weeks of playing the Blessing rental and after 35 years of putting down my last horn, today I took possession of an Eclipse Large Copper trumpet. Man, what a difference and what a horn. Fantastic. It is amazing to have a really good trumpet for once in my life.

I also started lessons with Dwayne Eubanks, Robin Eubanks brother who lives just down the road from me. First lesson went well. What a great player. what a great horn.

Re: My new horn

Hi,

Blessing rental to an Eclipse horn?

There are miles and $$$$$$between the two brands.

No "apples to apples" comparison there.

It is no small wonder the Eclipse performs wonderfully, looks great and sounds excellent.

Best wishes,

Lloyd

Bill you are going to get alot from your lessons with Dwayne. He is a great person and wonderful player. Try my sleeve in your lesson, he uses it all the time.

YES! I got one from Josh a few months back and it does make a difference....more focused, fat sound! The recordings are not very good, but check some of my playing here www.thectsgroup.us

Re: My new horn

Man what a coincidence I play on a blessing and its been a while since I've been playing on it. I might finally buy a regular strad 37 for now. Never actaully owned a good quality horn that has helped me out so Im looking foward to that. Congratulations on the new horn hopefully I'll feel the same.

Hi Bill

Congratulations on the horn it looks great.....hours of fun I am sure.

A word of warning about the case....I had one just like it and was not careful with it....it fell apart. It was a shame because it is really compact and does protect the trumpet. Unfortunately the trim was not good......If you handle it very carefully it may be alright....just make sure you don't grab it with one handle for example....or snag the edges on anything.

All the best

Walter

Looks like an interesting sleeve. Can I get some more info on the characterisics and prices, etc. for the section sleeve? Didn't see anything on your myspace entry . Thanks! Dave

Congrats! I have been playing over 50 yrs and still going fine ( I guess) Keep at it. Having a horn like that in your hands would give you a whole new outlook on life and motivation and confidence to get back in shape and play as best as you can, and as often as possible! Dave
