My Pet Frankenhorn

Was finished today. Raw brass, though the bell is silver plated.

The bell is the Stage 1 California bell

The leadpipe/tune slide is a Stage 1 NY, with a special-order heavy reciever.

The body is a 1981 Getzen Eterna.

I think I want a Matte Lacquer finish from Kanstul. Not decided yet.

I get it in the mail Friday. Can't wait.

The sound was described by those listening to me as one of the "Vintage" jazz players, very bright, but ringy as well. The sound is almost described as being cornet-like.

Its the only bright sounding horn I've enjoyed playing, though I may be a bit biased...
