New Stage 1 Trumpet - World tour

Hello,All
Many have seen the New York Trumpet Company website with the new Stage 1 Trumpet - www.newyorktrumpetcompany.com

The Stage 1 Trumpet was designed in the US and is made in Germany by a small company who specialise in hand-made horns. As you would expect from German craftsmanship the quality of the build is superb.

What we are trying to do, is put this trumpet in the hands of as many players around the world as possible. We would be very interested in your opinions and feedbacks on this horn. We will ship the horn to anyone that is interested in test driving it. Stage 1 Trumpets are available to try in the US, UK, Germany and Canada. The tour has started some time ago in the US and UK. Please contact us for more info, if interested

Felix in US and Canada : nytrumpetco@aol.com
Ron in UK: sales@hazyhorns.com
Olaf in Germany: Trumpetstage1@aol.com

Well, I sent in an inquiry. Has anyone else seen the pics? Quite interesting, especially the valve ring.

Felix has me set up to try one in the next couple of days. I'm looking forward to it, I love to play different horns to see how they compare. When all is said and done I'll write here and give you my impressions.

Call / email Felix, he wants his horn seen and tried out there. Who knows, you might be the first / next Stage 1 performing artist!

Yeah, am prone to sometimes downplay my playing. I am pretty good for a freshman trumpet major in Middle Tennessee juggling four trumpet students, field studies, jazz/marching/concert/recital practices, and music theory in all it's vile evilness .

Dangit, I must get me a recording to put up sometime!

This trumpet looks interesting... But why in this day and age would I ever want to play on an instrument with no first of third valve slide saddle. Is this thing so advanced that it plays in tune by itself? How am I supposed to get Low Ds and C#s in tune. What about As on the first valve slide. I would try one of these but I just couldn't use a horn like that on a gig if I can't tune some notes with my slides. By the way who makes these horns?

This a very good point, 405Trpt.There is a 3rd slide ring there,it is just on the bottom, and the saddle is available on the 1st slide as well,as an option that you would not have to pay for.A custom trumpet is a very indidvidual thing and i designed it without the 1st slide saddle, because it was more comfortable for me to play this way.The main reason why the Stage 1 is on the Tour,is that i would love to hear all your comments and recomendations, good or bad, about the design and how it sounds. And from that, i will try to make it the best horn possible.Once again, this is a custom trumpet and it will be made to accommodate your needs.
Thanx,

Felix

Man, I can't wait!

Do you offer reversed 1st valve slide rings as well?

Also, I am wondering how many people here have responded to your offer of testing out your new horns?
