No Strads in Alabama

Yesterday, I was talking with the local music store road man that services my school and happened to get on the subject of the Bach strike. He joined this company in the middle of the spring and they had two Strads in stock at that time -- he was able to sell both in a week. Since then, they haven't been able to get any new stock in -- from anybody. The same is true for the other stores in Alabama. Looks like this will be the year of the Yamaha/V1/Getzen.

Also, the same is true for Strad Trombones as well. They recently sold their last 42B and have shifted over to recommending the Conn 88H.

I guess we will see e-bay prices soar because of this.

Well, school does start back the second and third weeks of August. If my mom wouldn't kick my butt for selling mine (and I'm 23!), I would consider it. If Alabama is anything, it's definitely a Bach state.

strad

Matt,
Maybe none in AL, but don't be afraid to shop online. www.wwbw.com, dillons, etc. have them.
I would watch for serial number though. Reportedly 644,201 is the last, pre-strike serial number (a Chicago C) from the factory.
