Yes, I have been playing one for several months now. The horn is a very free blow that slots extremely well, particularly in the upper register. It is a very versatile horn as well. I have played the horn on both brass quintet settings and big band settings, and have not had a problem blending with either situation. Let me know if you have any other questions. Brandon

Vintage I have a California and a Vintage. They are as different as they are both really good horns. both are extremely flexible horns when it comes to diversity of timbres one cvan produce. The Vintage has a VERY nice free blow and excellent intonation. The valves are the best I've ever had (same valves as the California). The price is REAL nice, too! Check it out! You'll be glad you did. Nick

I have played the stage 1 california and the New York, and I currently play a posseger. I can vouch for the quality of all Felix's horns. The valves on all are tremendous. My Posseger, which is very similar to the New York, is open blowing. I still maintains a core sound, which sometimes can be a problem with horns that are extremely open. I would highly recommend trying these horns. Besides, Felix is one of the most honest and pleasant people you could possibly deal with. Peace Matt
