Re: NYTC vintage b flat

I got mine almost a year ago and I love it. I played Bach Strad ML bores for 20 years and I think the Stage One Vintage Bb is an upgrade. The intonation is better, it slots better, and it blows more freely. The sound can fill up a room with ease. Felix was very easy to work with as well.

Re: NYTC vintage b flat

Hi,

I own one and I am really pleased to play with it. The valve block is awesome (a Bauerfeind I guess) and the build quality is good.

Re: NYTC vintage b flat

Sorry for the delay, I didnt see the post.

I have played this horn several times and it is very nice. Tone is full and pure, intonation is VERY good, the feel is even throughout the registers, and the entire thing is well made. I have several students who have bought this horn and they blend very well in the band, but when pushed they can light right up. I would say this model is very versatile and would be perfect for someone looking for an overall horn. In my opinion it is a step up from the Bachs and Yamahas.

Let me know if you have any other qeustions.

Re: NYTC vintage b flat

It really depends on the instrument you want to purchase. If it is something in stock it is a very quick turn around. When I say in stock I mean already built and in the hands of Felix. If it is something you want custom built it can take 6 weeks to 4 months, depending on the suppliers and the build process. (I know other custom makers who take 12 months to build a customer a horn)

When you are ready to take the plunge contact Felix and I am sure he can give you a better answer specific to the horn you want.

Hope this helps.
