Olds Conversions by leadtrumpetgirl

I have just purchased two Olds valve section/Conn Coprion Bell conversions, Bb and C, made for me by Charmaine Slaten. I am very pleased with her work and the quality on these instruments. Both of the horns can play very dark to very bright and the intonation is wonderful. The horns feature reverse leadpipes. I highly recomend Charmaines work!!! It's going to be a great 2008.

Re: Olds Conversions by leadtrumpetgirl

Charmaine recently helped me with my old Besson trumpet by practically giving me a set of ones that worked from a different model. She used them in her conversions. She recently had a fire which burned down most of her workshop and studio, losing hundreds of horns and equipment. She said she would be out for about 4 months rebuilding and fullly recovered in a year. A great gal who provided me with alot of free valve advice. I should have said provided me with valves from 2-20's which fit my 8-10.

Re: Olds Conversions by leadtrumpetgirl

I received my trumpets just two weeks before the fire. I receved a couple of emails from Charmaine since then. She is a great peson and has a vast understanding of the trumpet, acoustics, etc.... I hope she recovers quickly.
