Olds Super

Has anybody played the Super Olds cornet? I have a Special cornet, and am a doubler (play trombone). I use a cornet for dixieland playing occasionally. The Special sounds great, but I understand that the Super is better. There is one on Ebay and it is cheap at this point, since it looks cruddy (oxidation, etc.).Does it have a 3rd valve ring that moves?

Re: Olds Super

I have recently aquired an Olds Super cornet, It has fittings for an adjustable ring on the 1st and 3rd slides, unfortunatly missing the set screws, the 3rd slide fitting may also be used for a lyre.

Regards, Stuart.

Re: Olds Super

Many thanks A.N.A. I will PM my details.

I was wrong about the third slide, the fitting is on the fixed part for a lyre, The first slide has the fitting for ring/saddle, I dont have it here, it is at my platers for a dose of gold.

Regards, Stuart.

Spoken like a true trumpeter...Other people have "my attorney", "my CPA", "My Trainer", or "My Proctologist". Only a trumpeter has "my plater". I'm sure that we all have that association to keep things sparkly.
