asc1969 will become famous soon enough
"Oxford" by Boosey and Hawkes Ltd.

About a month ago, while traveling with my in-laws, we began talking about how I was eager to begin playing trumpet but hadn't purchased one yet. My father-in-law informed me that he had an old trumpet at his house that was bought for him by his mother back in the 50's. He actually gave me the trumpet (still in the hardshell student case that it came with) to begin practicing on. The name on the trumet is "Oxford" and it states Made in England by Boosey and Hawkes Ltd. The serial number engraved on it is 20676. It's very tarnished and has some laquer peeling in spots but only has two pinsize dings around the bell. The valves were in decent condition, however one had been repaired (unknown reason). I took it to a local music shop and had a chem clean done and had the felts replaced. Any thoughts as to whether the instrument is a decent beginning horn or not? It came with an "Olds 3" mouthpiece but I purchased a Bach 7C as I was told this was the most popular and easiest to begin with. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
