A trumpet will sound like whoever is playing it. You can't listen to a clip and say, "Oh, that guy is playing a ... (insert your favorite horn here)."

I used to have the brushed raw brass model and it was a wonderful horn with a big focused sound. The valves were as good as any valves that I have ever played.

Phaeton's Fall
http://www.mp3unsigned.com/showmp3.asp?mp3id=31952

These are a couple of tracks I cobbled togehter for Felix when I had his modified Phaeton. Same bell, valves tubing etc. What was modified was the bracing. All the trumpet parts were played on that horn. I tried to cover the range - from extreme highs to lows (though I didn't go into the pedal register, just down to some low G's etc.)

Personally, I loved THAT horn. The stock Phaeton's I have played are quite nice, too! They do play a bit differently from the one Felix loaned to me.

Felix has Phaetons, you know! He should have some input here.
