![]() ![]() | Re: Pocket Cornets Look for similar threads about pocket trumpets below. Many pocket trumpets are of good quality, others are very poor. Most play them as "novelty" instruments that do not replace their major trumpets. Some like to use them as a "stow away" instrument in their vehicle to practice while traveling. Some like Amati, Jupiter, and other brands in the $600-$800 range which seem to be of good quality. There are other manufacturers of fair, good, better quality. Others go for the more expensive high-quality Benge Colibri $1,450-$1,500 or the Kanstul CCT-905 Custom at $1,650-$1,750. These are excellent quality and can stand up against regular size instruments. You can find pocket trumpets of lesser quality at much cheaper prices. Some of the cheaper imports (China, India, elsewhere) that are of very low quality and you should be aware you may have problems with poor workmanship. They have finish flaws, leaks, parts that fall off and valves that won't last. I have a cheap one (BandNow) that was given to me as a gift that I treasure, but I could NOT honestly refer to it as a quality instrument. I believe WWBW sold them several years ago for $199.00. I play it as a novelty instrument, but I don't play it as often as my regular quality horns. It does not "cut it" against my other horns. ![]() ![]() | Re: Pocket Cornets Ted, A picture "paints a thousand words" as you have aptly show! Thanks for finding the picture. Are there any trumpets/cornets/pocket trumpets of good quality from India? If they are, I've not seen any either? Best wishes, Lloyd |
