@ problem with my trumpet (getzen classic eterna)

Hi,

I bought a used getzen eterna classic in mint condition (the remake from the old pro model), and i need to say that after some extensive play i'm a little desapointed,

First, water is coming from the top of the big slide when i play, at the junction for tuning (yea it's weird)

Second the mini slide of the second valve (the "U") when in the good position is slack, so when i play and use the second valve there is a vibrating sound coming from the trumpet, i need to invert the piece

And finally an error of design, nothing to stop the D slide, 2 times now it knock my bell when i was puting it in standing position.

In fact i just wanted to point my desapointment to a trumpet that new is costing 1500-2000 $.

It it known issues? or i'm just very unlucky...

Quick fix: rubber band or girl's rubber band like thing they use to hold a pony tail. Run it from which ever lower valve case holds it best.

Also, did Eterna's come with the black plastic thing on the 3rd slide. Yours might be missing?

No clue to your observation of the upper part of your main tuning slide and a rattley 2nd valve slide.

Maybe it is not in "mint condition."

I suggest so because Getzen makes great horns. I have 2 -- a really good one and an old really beat up student cornet. No probs at all.

Re: @ problem with my trumpet (getzen classic eterna)

Well there was not a skratch on it before i knock my bell with my d slide,

Well i bought the black plastic thing, but when i play, i sometimes move my trumpet lower, and when i do a gig, i oiled it, alot, so i balanced my trumpet, and my d slide flew in the air.

Yea i know pression should have stoped it, it did not.

Actually the U is not a big problem for now it work, in any case i could replace it, but my tuning slide doing water, it's damn anoying and i wonder if it change my sound.

Re: @ problem with my trumpet (getzen classic eterna)

the water leaking out of your main tuning slide is a very easy and quick fix for your repair tech [also the 2nd slide fix]. take your horn to a GOOD repair tech and have those two items taken care of.if he isn't busy he could do it while you wait. Dave

DON"T LET RUBBER TOUCH SILVER!!!

The silver will rot.

Use a coated elastic thread.
