| Question About The Prana 1 B-Flat Trumpet I am interested in the Prana 1 B-Flat trumpet and I am wondering if this horn is made to be compatible with the stc-2 and/or stc-3 weight mouthpieces? I thought I may have read that it was somewhere but can't find the reference. Thanks. |

| You're exactly right. The heavier mouthpieces work best from a balance perspective on that horn. I have tried the 1 weight and it works fine. It's just that the other ones are better. A good player can make just about anything sound good but you want what sounds best, the optimal. ML |

| Well, you know what I'm going to say... Horns aren't versatile, musicians are! But I know what you mean, anyway. It's really a question of your taste and how you envision a sound. It's a very rich sound with a HUGE "spectrum" of overtones. I happen to love the sound because of it's richness but then I love a good, complex dark chocolate and some others like hershey's. That's life. ML |

The Prana I has as much physical impact in a lighter instrument and a tremendous clarity and presence. Surprising in a lighter instrument. The Prana 3 is still richer with the same qualities as the I. Those are my subjective opinions. Someone else may have a different take. ML | |

| Pianissimo User | Thanks for the perspective Manny...it's so cool to have access to someone with your experience and stature. Really appreciate you spending the time! By the way...how to you avoid getting smacked in the chops while doing martial arts? I'm thinking you either have great defense...or wear some sort of protection! Thanks again, Dave Brown |
