![]() | Hi, how does the Modular Valve Weight System work? Also, I see that it is included with the Conn CONNstellation 52bsp trumpet. I was guessing maybe you put it where the bottom valve caps are? thanks |

![]() | Re: Question on the Modular Valve Weight System. You can put them instead of the bottom valve caps to add weight. When I had the 52B for trial, I didnīt like the caps, they were ruining the lightweight feel of the trumpet. But if you feel, that the slotting is too loose, or the sound too bright, you might be able to get good results together with them. Herbert

![]() | Re: Question on the Modular Valve Weight System. The modular valve weight system works like this. You have one heavy bottom cap per valve to replace the standard weight one and 2 additional weights per valve to add additional weight to each valve. The goal of the weights is to allow you to somewhat customize your horn. The addition of weight can sometimes help with slotting, but this also may change the response of the horn (make it sound dull). I've played around with them from time to time, but generally end up with the standard caps or at most the heavy caps with no additional weights. It's just a way for someone to slightly adjust the horn to their preference. Maybe setup one way for Jazz performance and another setup for classical, pop, etc.

![]() | Re: Question on the Modular Valve Weight System. I have the modular weight system on my King Legend C and I really don't notice much difference with or without, aside from the physical weight of the horn in your hand.
