Ripamonti Fluhelhorn

Hi!
I'm searching for a start-up flugelhorn. Among the others, I'm considering two horns: Bach Aristocrat FH600 and a flugelhorn made by italian manufacturer Ripamonti.
I'll be pleased to know Your opinion.

Hi Marco

Welcome to TM.....

I bought a Jupiter 846R as a starter horn and have found it "in tune" and easy to play. There are many here who speak highly of these horns.

I am sorry I have no experience of the other makes that you mention.

Re: Ripamonti Fluhelhorn

Most of the flugelhorn players that I know started with a used horn. There is something sexy about an old flugelhorn. Check eBay. I got a Getzen Eterna pro model 4 valve for EUR 700.

Io sono un Italiano al estero, chercami qui www.thectsgroup.us The best trumpet I have tried is an Andreas Eastman (made in China) BUT, VERY, VERY GOOD! I saw a great-looking flugelhorn they just released on a European e-bay site....if it plays like their trumpet, I am buying it even w/out trying it!!!!

The Bach is also made in Chana. I have seena few of these with alot of valve problems. If your budget can afford it try a B & S.

Re: Ripamonti Fluhelhorn

Thank you all for usefull comments.
I think that B&S would be a good choise, but it's a little expensive and an don't want to buy something on Internet....I mean that I'd like to prove and listen to the sound....
Anyway I think that it's better to take time and keep on searching...
Stay in touch

Hi Josh.
Just a suggestion.
I have to decide between a Holton 357 Sandoval (in Paris and I live in Italy - that means that I can't try it) at 900 euros; the second choice is a B&S mod. Brochon 1346/2g. I tried the last one, and I can play it again. It belongs to a professional that I know and that give me lessons. B&S is priced 800 euros, good intonation and I like the sound.
I'm a beginner, one year practice, and the B&S is helpful compared to the Courtois 155R. The Courtois has got a beautiful sound but I find some difficulties on higher notes (starting from Bb).
I heard the Kanstuk sound: it looks to me similar to a trombone. I don't like it. What about the Sandoval? Is it nearest to the Kanstul or to the Courtois?
