Rockwell Trumpet Made in Chicago

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a Rockwell Trumpet From E-Bay.

Can anyone tell me any history on this piece?

I have been unable to find any info. on it

Welcome to the forum. We will try to help. If you look over the subject headings on this line and the vintage one you will see there are a number of similar questions. It is often very hard to determine parentage of these old horns. We could use more pics, full side views, top view of entire horn. All I can see it is an old, well worn trumpet. Most likely a "stencil", specially made by some company for a specific retailer to sell. That was as very common practice and there are thousands of them out there under many names.

Horn-u-copia site has a trade name section listing many of them, but not Rockwell. I doubt if it is a separate company. With more pics we can get some design clues to try and identify it further.

Here all of the pictures I have of it for now.
I have'nt recieved it yet. When it gets here I can take more pictures.

Ok. From what I can see on that small photo, it looks like Rockwell Music House, or something like that? That points to the "stencil" idea. Historical Chicago business/music scene investigation might reveal something about that venture.

i vaguely remember that name. i seemed to recall that it was named after someone who wanted a special horn made. other than that i know nothing.i once owned a quenon.it was made in france.it was a equal to my conn coprion 22b.

Thanks for the recollection. You are probably right. I can't find anything on line about a Rockwell Music house in Chicago, even if I read the bell correctly.

hey breck; i think i am right in saying this.i beleive sears had their own brand years ago.try some of the larger mail order and department stores.sears is based in chicago are they not? carl
