![]() ![]() | Re: Rudy Muck Trumpets.... Apparently not many. I am not personally aware of this brand, either, but I wanted to let you know that someone at least looked at your post. I went on the site at the link you provided and read some of the history. Also, it appears that you have a very beautiful trumpet from the photo on that site. From your post, it seems that it plays as good as it looks. Good luck.

![]() | Re: Rudy Muck Trumpets.... I've got a Rudy Muck 17C mouthpiece for my Connquerror. Its a little pea shooter that I can hardly make any noise out of. Probably close to a 1a4a if schilke ever made (or could make) one that small). I didn't know they had trumpets too.

![]() | Re: Rudy Muck Trumpets.... I have never seen a Muck trumpet but in high school in 1944 I played a 19c and did un til years later when I turned to a Purviance. I think they were fine pieces.I have heard that Charlie Shavers played a 19c. In those days there were not a lot of good mouthpieces since it was war time and material was in short supply. |

![]() | Re: Rudy Muck Trumpets.... I can tell you that my Rudy Muck New York (copy of the NY Bach Strad) is an amazing player. I know that Rudy Muck worked for Vincent Bach and that these early Mucks were made with parts from the Bach factory. It is a really heavy horn, very solid. I just love the way it plays and would never part with this horn. There were many different models of "Muck" trumpets. The trumpet with "Rudy Muck New York, USA" is a copy of the New York Bach Strad, from the same period. Here is a video that I took with my trio last Friday night, playing the NY Muck: There is no Greater Love..... by Filmscorz | iCompositions - Music This horn also records extremely well. The over-tones are so very stable and therefore, it does not "peak" and very easy to get a great mix. I highly recommend these horns to anyone looking to play a vintage horn....... here is a recording that I did with the Muck: http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=121447 Last edited by Filmscorz; 08-30-2009 at 09:45 PM.
