Schilke Cases

The subsequent cases have been removed from the Schilke catalog:

100-P -- Piccolo Trumpet
110 -- Single Cornet
110-E -- Eb Cornet
111 -- Single Trumpet

These cases have been replaced by the innovative #112 Double Trumpet Case, which feature:

* Classic wood shell design
* Front and side handles
* Adjustable interior via a removable blocking system
* Improved fit with little front to back or side to side motion tolerance
* Additional room for mouthpieces, small accessories and slides
* Meets most Airline carry on baggage restrictions

Historically, Schilke sold instruments without a case or mouthpiece. As some already know, Schilke has never made their cases. Case production has always been outsourced. To answer your question I will give you a brief history on the cases and bring you up to date.

The Schilke cases that everyone remembers are original high quality Gladstone. The most popular of them were the double and triple cases which set the standard for a professional case. These original cases where produced by a company in Lake Geneva, WI but they went out of business. Production was then moved to a new company in WI and everything seemed on track until sometime in the 90’s when the company moved production off the mainland. This is the time where quality of fit and finish on the case came into question.

Consequently, when Andrew came on his first order of business was to rectify this. The new cases are now coming from a quality manufacture in the good old U.S.A !

It is a wood shell case, reinforced on the top and bottom and uses a heavier quality latch.

A committee of employees worked on the design of this new case that could fit all of the instruments they offered including the cornets, small horns, looked like a Schilke Gladstone, protect your investment and was of a level of quality that a Schilke trumpet deserves.

Great to see that Andrew is interested in some "polishing" of the rich Schilke reputation for quality.
