| Re: Schilke P7-4 Note how quickly the bell flare starts right out of the valve section. Someone mentioned the change in tides from long back to short, (and it does seem we are always reinventing the wheel), but it looks like they did their homework with this horn. Congrats Schilke. |

![]() ![]() | Re: Schilke P7-4 I played that model at ITG last year and also played a friend's some time ago. It's an amazing horn and IMO an improvement over the P5-4 for solo/small ensemble stuff. I'm still keeping my P5-4 as it has never let me down but if I get some more calls from Brandenburg I might invest in that horn. Andrew and the rest of the gang at Schilke are really doing a fantastic job! - |

| Re: Schilke P7-4 Same here - I played it last week at ITG UMASS. Super horn. It is very different from my P5-4, so I'm not planning to trade. But, I am thinking about having both. The P5-4 is so nice and bright. The P7-4 is very full with a sound more like the bigger horns. Schilke designed the P7-4 with the idea that players would want to own both horns. I certainly do. pat |

![]() ![]() | Re: Schilke P7-4 I think its really cool that Schilke kept researching/developing/testing and made a better Pic. The P5-4 could have been around until the end of time. But they went out and it sounds like they made something even better. Congrats Schilke |
