![]() | Filling In The Blanks The B8, B9, X1, X2, X5, and X6 are discontinued models. The S model trumpets all have ML brass bells with soldered beads, different leadpipes from the other custom models and a braced tuning slide and only one bell to ballister brace instead of the usual two. Also the slide tubing on the B1 is .460 with a large brass bell; the B2 also has .460 tubing, but a smaller #3 bell; the B3 uses .463 tubing and the same #3 bell as the B2; the B4 uses .450 tubing and the same #3 bell as model B2 and B3; B5 and B6 both use a ML copper bell but differ in bore size, the B5 has .460 tubing and the B6 has .450; the B7 is a .450 bore and has the #1 brass bell. These are the standard configurations. All Bb and C's are available with Beryllium bells and, in the near future, sterling silver bells, at additional cost, of course. Additionally, they are all available as sliding bell models as well. |

| Pianissimo User | bkmdano, The Schilke Sterling Silver bell showed up at IAJE this year... They are most likely going to bring one to TMEA, I will try to get down there and check it out to let you know more about it... I don't belive there is a set price for the bell yet but I am sure I will have some more info on it soon. As soon as I confirm that this is a catolog item then I will add it to the above theoldmaz, Thanks for your great post! I updated the bells! I fear posting the bore of the slides will confuse people and so I am a little weary of posting the measurements. Most of the Schilke designs are step bore (a.k.a mulitbore) designs. The measurment of the bore size of the slide is no indication of how the horn blows are responds. As you know various bore sizes in tubing bore, casing bore, valve bore, lead pipe design, and the bell taper will factor greatly into the responce, sound and blow of the horn.

![]() | additional options drunkIQ, additional options for the B series (though aftermarket) also include lightweight silverplated finger buttons and brass (also silverplated) valve stems. Both are made by Mark Curry, as are the heavy valve caps. |

| Fortissimo User | Pangaea... are those options available through Schilke? or directly from Curry? To be strictly fair I think that the matrix should only deal with stuff that you can buy from Schilke directly, not after-market parts. Just a suggestion, your thoughts may be opposed...which is fine. |
